The Ferrari Portofino M is a jaw dropping drop top with plenty of sensuous curves and an excess of power. The M’s 3.9-liter, turbocharged V-8 now creates 612 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque thanks to new high-lift cam profiles and a faster-spinning turbo impeller. The upgrade creates a 20-hp increase over previous generations of the Portofino with no increase in torque. Perfecto! Also new for 2021: an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that has been modified and compacted to allow for more aggressive ratios in the first few gears and taller ratios further up the cog set. Both acceleration and fuel economy is thus improved. The gearbox is mounted slightly lower in the chassis for an improved center of gravity. The new transmission makes city driving with its many stops much smoother, with improved clutch-torque control. Out on the highway, that hard top retracts in just 15 seconds and you’ll get from zero to 60 in just 3.4 seconds while reaching a top speed of 199 mph if you desire. This is one cavallo veloce!
